Glenorchy City Council is very proud to
support one of the finest and most beautiful public disc golf courses
in Australia.
Poimena Reserve Disc Golf Course
is also the first and the oldest disc golf course in Australia, established
in 1986.
The Council approved funding to upgrade
the course in 2005 and a new course layout was officially opened on 2nd
November 2006.
The course is open to the public all year
round. It costs nothing to play the course, except for the purchase of
a good quality flying disc.
Poimena Reserve has plenty of trees and
undulating terrain, so flying your disc around the course in as few shots
as possible is a true challenge to players of all ability levels.
Be warned, playing disc golf at Poimena
Reserve is very addictive, once you've tasted the joys and frustrations,
you'll be counting the days until you can play again.
